Recitation of the Rosary will be at 6:00 pm Monday, June 7 in the Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 am Tuesday, June 8 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with Father Jose Gomez as celebrant. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home 2800 South Osage St. Floyd was born on May 12, 1940 in Clovis, New Mexico to the late Flavio and Trinidad Griego. On October 13, 1962, he married the love of his life, Carmen Gonzales. He was an active member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus, and a past member of Pan American Golf Association. In 1976, he became the proud owner of Floyd's Place. Floyd made daily visits to Wal Mart on East I-40 where many knew him as ""The Comp King"". He had numerous hobbies including fishing, golfing, playing Texas Hold'em, poker, coaching baseball, and playing billiards and slots. He was a loving husband, father, grampo, great-grampo, and friend. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife; his parents; a daughter, Jeannie Magallanes; a sister, Patsy Lara; and a brother, Johnny Griego. Survivors include 3 daughters, Linda Cuellar and husband George Jr., Trinnie Turman and husband Chuck, and Joann Aldaco and husband Ramon all of Amarillo; a son in law, Martin Magallanes Sr. also of Amarillo; step mother, Jesusa Griego of San Angelo; 5 brothers, Julian, Cipriano, Phillip, and Rodney Griego all of Amarillo, and Ernest Cantu of San Angelo; a sister, Janice Griego of Amarillo; 10 grandchildren Martin Magallanes Jr. and wife Valerie, Sheila and husband Erik Morton, Alicia Magallanes, George Cuellar III and wife Stacie, Michelle Cuellar, Jessica Turman, CJ and wife Alex Turman, Kasandra and Michael Aldaco, and Brandy Ortiz.; and 20 great grandchildren. The family requests that memorials be to Odyssey Healthcare.
