Floyd F. ""Curley"" Phillips 81, of Amarillo died Sunday September 7, 2008 in Amarillo. Graveside services will be at 10:00 AM Friday at Llano Cemetery, with Wayne Griffith, pastor of Second Baptist Church officiating. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel 2800 S. Osage St. Mr. Phillips was born and raised in eastern Tennessee. He served in the Army Air Force during WWII. He owned and operated Curley's Sheet Metal, Heating and Air Conditioning Co. for many years. He was a loving and devoted husband, dad and grandpa. Curley was a member of Second Baptist Church and White Rock Baptist Church in Huntsville, TN. Mr. Phillips truly loved the Lord. Curley was preceded in death by his parents, John L and Ollie (Jeffers) Phillips. He was also preceded in death by several brothers and sisters. Survivors include his wife H. LaVerne Phillips of the home; 2 sons, Danny Phillips and his wife Margaret and Mike Phillips all of Amarillo; 2 daughters, Amanda Gordy and her husband Khari of Orlando, FL and Elizabeth Dodson and her husband Zach of Amarillo; 2 brothers, James Phillips of Oneida, TN and Glinn ""Boots"" Phillips of Robbins, TN; 2 sisters, Carolyn Claborn and Evelyn Lay both of Oneida, TN; 9 grandchildren, Danny Jr., Patrick, Anikah, Jadyn, Lexy , Emma, Josh, Helen Rose & Ashley. And Great Grand-daughter, Stormy Rose.
