Forest F. Driskill

Forest F. Driskill 92, of Amarillo, died Thursday April 5, 2012 at the Thomas E. Creek Veterans Affairs Medical Center. Graveside services will be at 10:00 AM Saturday at Llano Cemetery with Rev. David Driskill, son and pastor of New Hope Community Fellowship Church officiating. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel, 2800 S. Osage St. Mr. Driskill was born in Sherman. He graduated from Panhandle High School in 1936. He served in the Army Air Corps during WWII. He reenlisted in the Air Force in 1948 and retired as a Master Sergeant on November 30, 1963. After his military career, Mr. Driskill worked for JC Penny in the camera department for a few years before working as an inspector at Bell Helicopter. He retired from the City of Amarillo Parks and Recreation Department in 1982. Mr. Driskill loved photography. He especially looked forward to seeing his family during family reunions. He was a Southern Baptist. He married the love of his life, Georgia Matejek on May 22, 1943 in San Angelo. He was preceded in death by a son, William Fredrick Driskill. He is survived by his loving wife, 1 daughter, Elizabeth Ann Driskill of Amarillo; 2 sons, Charles Leo Driskill and Rev. David Driskill and his wife Helen of Amarillo; 2 grandchildren, Michael and Laura; 4 great-grandchildren, Jett, Tatum, Hannah and Noah.
