Francisco Flores-Leal

Francisco Flores-Leal, 82, of Amarillo died December 5th, 2020 at 3:33 PM at his home surrounded by all of his loved ones. Service will be 2:00 pm Friday, December 18 at Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel Officiated by Manny Delossantos. Arrangements and Cremation are by Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel, 2800 S. Osage. The family will receive guests Thursday, December 17 from 6-7:45 pm at the funeral home. Service will be live-streamed on Rector Funeral Homes Facebook page. Papi, as he was known by all, was born to Juan and Maria-Tita Flores-Leal on May 3rd, 1938 in Santander Jimenez, Tamaulipas Mexico. He was from El Rancho La Bonita. Papi came to the United States in 1960 and began his journey of success. He worked construction in Wichita Falls, TX for several years when he met his life-long partner. Papi met Raquel Garcia in 1963 and they were married in 1964. Papi traveled all over Texas as a foreman for Gilvin-Terrill. He was part of the team that built what we know today as I-40. In 1976 Papi changed his career path and became employed by Asarco Copper Refinery as caster operator and became a permanent resident of Amarillo. Asarco was his last job and he worked there for 25 years. He retired from Asarco as a rod line operator in 2000. He was a lifelong member of La Iglesia de Cristo and was a God-fearing faithful man. Papi was preceded in death by both parents and his only son Frank "Frankie" Leal. His wife Raquel joined him in heaven on December 12th, 2020. he is survived by all his daughters. Telvi Flores and partner Sandra, Griselle Shultz and spouse Lee, Sophia Renee Trinidad and spouse Felipe, Vanessa Flores-Madrid and spouse Pete all of Amarillo TX, and Uvaldina Flores of Las Cruces NM. Hes also survived by two stepdaughters Sandra Sanchez and spouse Manny and Lisa Cole and spouse Ivan of Corinth TX. He was also blessed with 21 grandkids, 19 great-grandkids, and 5 great/great-grandkids.
