Fred Conner

Fred Conner, the most loving and caring husband, father, grandfather and friend, went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus on May 7, 2018. Services will be at 10:00 AM Saturday, May 12, 2018 at Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel with Jeff Hodges, pastor of Faith Baptist Church of Alamogordo, NM officiating. Military Honors will be by Volleys for Veterans. Interment will be at Llano Cemetery. Fred was born in Amarillo on May 24, 1942. He served in the Army during the Vietnam War and was also in the Special Forces. He was a Firefighter for the U.S. Park Services at Lake Meredith. He was also a Volunteer firefighter for Potter County. After retiring from the U.S. Park Service, Fred continued working in the maintenance department until he was 74. Fred loved to work and stay busy. He loved his co-workers and friends and especially his family. He married his best friend, Jodi Kerns on Dec. 28, 1964. He was always a great provider. He was a wonderful and faithful husband for 54 years. Their son, Rick was his pride and joy. He adored his three grandchildren, his daughter in law and his dog, Daisy. Fred is survived by his wife, Jodi; one son, Rick Conner and his wife Anne of Lewisville; three grandchildren, Kayla, Kadin and Keira one sister, Betty Getman of Amarillo; his sister in law, Sally Bell of Amarillo; his special friend, Brenda Hickam of Amarillo; many nieces and nephews and his precious dog, Daisy.
