Frederick Woollard ""Fred"" Dennis, II. 65, of Amarillo died Sunday January 25, 2009 in Amarillo. Services will be at 11:00 AM Friday at South Georgia Baptist Church with Michael Decker, pastor of Beyond the Walls Ministry officiating. Private family burial will be at Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel, 2800 S. Osage St. Mr. Dennis was born in Wayne Co., MI. He served in the Air Force during the Vietnam Era. He was stationed in the Philippines and Japan. He received an associate's degree in computer engineering and computer design from Amarillo College. He graduated with honors and received the Computer Design Engineer of the Year Award. Mr. Dennis worked for Xerox as a Customer Service Representative for more than 25 years. After his retirement, he worked at Texas MHMR as a computer information specialist. He married Grace Silva in August of 1965 in Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Clovis. Mr. Dennis never met a stranger. He was a very generous person and loved helping others. He was the best husband, father and grandfather anyone could ask for. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Survivors include his wife; 1 son, Jon Eric Dennis and his wife Kimberly of Amarillo; 2 daughters, Laura Wolfgang and her husband Eric of Dallas and Melissa Araujo and her husband Felipe of Chicago, IL; 1 sister, Mary Lou Dennis Wylie and her husband Jim of San Diego, CA., 5 grandchildren, Lauren Dennis, Seth Herring, Brett Herring, Antonia Araujo and Beck Dennis Wolfgang and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
