Gabriel Alexis Alvarez

Gabriel Alexis Alvarez, 43, of Amarillo, died Saturday, March 22, 2014 in Amarillo. Rosary will be said at 6:00 PM Wednesday at Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel. Mass of Christian burial will be at 11:00 AM Thursday, March 27, 2014 at St. Laurence Catholic Church with Father Ignacio Candelas officiating. Interment will be at Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel. 2800 S. Osage St. Mr. Alvarez was born in Juarez, Mexico, to Jesus Alvarez and Eulalia Urbieta. Mr. Alvarez later moved to Amarillo in 1986. He was a self-employed residential construction worker and was very talented with his work. He was a member of St. Laurence Catholic church. He married Magdalena Montengro in 1993. Mr. Alvarez was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan and was a very loving husband and father. Survivors include his wife, 3 sons, Martin, Oscar, and Alejandro Alvarez all of Amarillo,2 daughters Cecilia and Angelica Alvarez both from Amarillo, Parents Jesus Alvarez of El Paso, and Eulalia Reyes of Juarez, MX , 2 brothers, Martin and Jesus Alvarez Jr. of Amarillo, and 2 sisters, Analilia Rodriguez, and Rocio Dominguez of Amarillo.
