Gary Joe Gaona

Gary Joe Gaona 63, of Pearland TX passed away on June 23rd in the hospital in Houston TX surrounded by family. Services will be held at 1:30 Pm Saturday June 29 at Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel. Interment will be at Llano cemetery following the service. Gary absolutely adored his cousins. Gary was born in Dalhart TX. March 31, 1956 to Joe and Ivon Gaona. He loved the Lord, and loved to attend Church. He enjoyed his time with his family and all the family get-togethers, especially all the cooking and the food! Gary never met a stranger, he always treated everyone as a friend. Whenever you saw him, you would always know that he was going to welcome you with a hug. He also enjoyed his friends, caregivers, and extended 'family' in his group homes and dayhab programs both in Amarillo and Pearland. He was a very special and loving son, brother, uncle, great-uncle and friend to so many. He will be missed by all his family and friends. Gary was preceded in death by his mother Ivon Gaona and nephew Jacob Adam McKinney. Gary is survived by his father Joe Gaona of Lake Jackson, TX two sisters, Theresa Nesmith of Danbury, TX, Laurie (Danny) McKinney of Lake Jackson, TX and brother Alan Gaona of Lake Jackson, TX. Four nieces and two nephews. Bridget (Stephen) Edwards, Brandy (Robert) Latour, Jessica Mckinney, Mick Mckinney, Joseph Gaona, Catherine Gaona and multiple great nieces and nephews.
