Gary D. Lindvay 71, of Amarillo died Sunday March 8, 2015 in Amarillo. Memorial services will be at 11:00 AM Friday at Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel with Robert Newman Associate Pastor of Arena of Life Church officiating. Cremation and arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel, 2800 S. Osage St. Gary was born on January 28, 1944 in Amarillo. After graduating from high school, he enlisted in the Navy where he served with the SeaBees during the Vietnam war.After his honorable discharge, Gary began a 39 year long career with Southwestern Bell Telephone where he worked as a cable splicer and repairman. He retired in 2001. Gary married Mary Alice Palmer in 1981. He enjoyed fishing, playing his guitar and wood working. He was a devout Tea Party Patriot. He is survived by his wife of the home, 3 sons, Matthew Lindvay of Mexia, Martin Lindvay of Bumpas Mills, Tenn., and Joe Lindvay of Amarillo; 1 daughter, Tanny Benning of Bastrop; 2 stepsons, Sam Lee Palmer of Amarillo and Todd Alan Palmer of Wylie; 1 step daughter, Shayna Palmer of Amarillo; a brother, Dennis Lindvay of Amarillo; 1 sister, Rosalie Romero of Amarillo; and 9 grandchildren. The family suggests memorial donations to CareNet Prenancy Center 706 N. Polk St. Amarillo, Texas 79101.
