Gene Britton

Gene Britton, 71, of Canyon died Friday November 1, 2019. Service will be 10 Am Thursday Nov.7 at Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel. Burial will be at Mobeetie Cemetery at 1 pm. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home 2800 S. Osage. Gene Britton was born Feb. 16, 1948 to Russell and Margaret Britton in Lorain, Oh. Gene was the type of guy that just made the most out of life. He had a good sense of humor. The kind of humor that made every one laugh. His personality just lit up the room up. He was a jokester, always making people laugh. Gene was very competitive, so competitive that he was often accused of cheating at cards. Being competitive drove him to be a hard worker. Gene was an iron worker for 50 years. He was also a family man. He met Barbara at the Rusty Nail, marrying her Aug. 14, 1995. The two were inseparable. His children and grandchildren were his world. He lit up every time they came into the room. Gene was preceded in death by his parents, and his mother in-law, Melba mills. He is survived by his wife, his daughter, Misty Taylor, his son, Brandon Lemons and his wife Lesley, his three grandsons; Nathan Taylor, Mathew Taylor, and James Lemons, two granddaughters, Breanna Standridge and Melanie Lemons, and his father in-law, J.C Mills. Family will receive friends 4-8 pm Tuesday and Wednesday at Rector Funeral Home.
