Gerald Wayne Doran

Gerald was born in Matador, Texas, September 25, 1948, to Royce Doran and Rosetta Carolina Bull Doran. A gathering of family and friends will be from 3-5 PM Sunday at the Cowboy Church and Arena of Life. Cremation was by Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel, 2800 S. Osage St. He served in the Army Reserves for six years. He worked as an ASE Certified Mechanic for SPS/Xcel Energy for 34 years. He retired in 2011 due to his battle against cancer. He married Kay Maddox on December 23, 1988 in Amarillo. Gerald was a member of Arena of Life Cowboy Church. He was a born-again Christian, and was saved at Camp Meeting in July of 2010. He was a Godly man, faithful husband, caring father, devoted brother, and loyal friend to many. Gerald loved living at Lake Tanglewood, watching Nascar, and spending warm evenings by the pool with friends and family. He is survived by his soul mate, Kay Maddox Doran; a daughter, Jessica White and husband Jarrod of Amarillo; a son, Murray Junod and wife Mambrye of Amarillo; three brothers, Roy Doran and Johnny Doran both of Amarillo and Densel Doran of Waco; three sisters, Jennie Doran of Vidor, Cathy Murphy of Amarillo and Julie Murphy and fiance David Fagnant of Oklahoma City; 12 grandchildren, Morgan Doran, Hannah Lister, Cyrena White, Kaleb White, Jayson White, Jaxon White, Brittany Baker, Adrianna Wood, Hannah Tomlinson, Alejandro Vallejo-King, Annanda Vallejo-King, and Francisco Vallejo-King; and 3 great-grandchildren Mayah Lister, Liam Lister, and Brooklyn Baker; numerous extended family and his 5 furry companions Mason, Tater, Tinker, Ginger, and Corey. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to the Amarillo Panhandle Humane Society, 3501 S. Osage St., Amarillo, Texas 79118 or the Cowboy Church Arena of Life Youth Ministry, 8827 S.
