Geraldine Rae 'Gerri' Basden

Geraldine Rae Basden (Gerri) 80, of Amarillo, passed away May 26th, 2020 at home followed by a lengthy illness. Graveside services will be at 2pm Saturday at Fairmount Cemetery in Follett. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel, 2800 S. Osage St., Amarillo, Texas Gerri was born August 13th, 1939 in Shattuck, Oklahoma to Kenneth and Jean Neihart. She married Darrell Basden July 14th, 1956 in Clayton, New Mexico. They moved to Amarillo for the remainder of her life. She retired from J.M Huber in 2000. Gerri was preceded in death by her parents Kenneth and Jean Neihart. A son Kevin Basden and a sister Voneta Hampton. Surviving relatives include her loving husband, Darrell Basden; daughter, Ronni Lynn Dial of Amarillo; two grandchildren, Ashley Romero of San Antonio and Cameron Dial of Amarillo; one great-grandchild, Ana Dreadin of Amarillo; two sisters, Vicki Nelson and husband Nick of Amarillo and Doneta Ratliff and husband Phillip. The family suggests memorial donations be to City Church of Amarillo and St. Jude Childrens Hospital.
