Geri Hulsey

Geri Hulsey, 85, of Amarillo, Texas passed away on June 3, 2026.

Graveside services will be at 2:00 P.M., Monday, June 8, 2026, at Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home, 2800 S. Osage.

Geri was born in Cheyenne, Oklahoma on June 26, 1940, to Winnie Mae (Laney) and Gerald Arley Penny. She attended Amarillo High School and went on to graduate from Amarillo College with a certificate in Early Childhood Development.

Geri married Arthur Lee Hulsey in Amarillo, Texas on December 25, 1955. They spent seventy years and six months together.

Geri worked for and retired from Bank of America. She was a homemaker, wife and mother. She loved to cook and sew, and above all, cherished time spent with her family and was proud of each of them. She especially loved her grandchildren.

Geri and Art were members of Encounter Church for 30 years. She loved volunteering her time at the church.

She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Chris Hulsey; and siblings, Kathy Penny, Janice Penny, and Bobby Britten.

She is survived by her husband Art Hulsey; children, Rick Hulsey and wife Melody, Cherri Adams, and Mark Hulsey and wife Audrey; daughter-in-law, Connie Hulsey; siblings, Susan Penny, and Connie Penny; 10 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
