Gerra Renee Storm of Amarillo, Texas went to sleep In Jesus on January 7, 2022. The family will host a private service at a later date. Arrangements and cremation are by Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel, 2800 S. Osage. She was the second born child to Eugene Payne and May Dewing Payne on September 30, 1954, in Gulfport, Mississippi. In her early life, her Army family traveled the country until they settled in Amarillo in 1968. She attended Palo Duro High school and was a 1991 graduate of the Amarillo College nursing program. She married Billy Giles in January of 1971, and they had four children during their 12 years of marriage. She married Calvin Storm on March 21, 1997, and they resided in Fritch, Texas. She returned to Amarillo after his passing. She loved being with her family, shopping, cooking, playing canasta and bingo, and she loved her cats. She was a member of the Amarillo Seventh-day Adventist Church and loved reading her bible, listening to Adventist music and programs. She loved Jesus. She was very active and lively and very much loved by her children and family. Gerra was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Calvin Storm, Her former husband, father of her children, Billy Giles, and two nephews; Hervie Dale Rogers II and Jason Rogers. She is survived by her beloved children; Eric Giles, Julie Giles Kempf, Joshua and Jennifer Giles, and Sara Giles, all of Amarillo, her sister Brenda and Dale Rogers of Amarillo, her brother; Robert and Michiko Payne of Japan, her precious grandchildren; Dustin and Mari Kempf, Kaiden Williams and Glory Bostock, Meghan Kempf, Avery Giles, Caitlyn, and Remington Escamilla, Joey and Jessie Kempf, Ty Baker, Keely Ledbetter, Marlee Giles, Maggie May Giles, and Bryce Giles, all of Amarillo, her beautiful and precious great-grandchildren; Brittain, Mia, Olivia Kempf, and Sevi Rae Escamilla of Amarillo, and her many beloved nieces and nephews and dearest friends.
