Gertrude Patricia Merrill

Gertrude Patricia (Pat) Merrill 94, got her angel wings today 3/4/2017 in Amarillo Texas, a celebration of life will be held at 2:00 on April 1, 2017 at the home of her daughter and son in law Smokey and C.D. Howard of, 1112 Pecan St. Panhandle Texas. Cremation is under the direction of Rector Funeral Home of Amarillo Texas. She will be buried in Santa Paula Calif, where she was born Oct. 31. 1922 to Fanny Fern and John Henry McCrea. She was quote, "grandma"; to everyone she met and she never met a stranger. Her Great and Great Great grandchildren called her HaHa, she was preceded in death by her Mom and Dad and her sister, 3 great great grand children, 2 husbands. She is survived by her son Mike Burris and wife Peggy, her daughter Smokey Howard and husband C.D. of Panhandle, 10 grand children, 47 great grand children, 52 great great grandchildren, and 1 great great great grandson, and many more who she adopted and adopted her she was loved by all who have ever met her. She loved to dance and to paint and make quilts, she loved crossword puzzles and jigsaw puzzles. She love to have a glass of wine at 5:00 sharp. Her claim to fame was she went to school with Judy Garland of the Wizard of Oz. She was loved and will be deeply missed.
