Gilberto G. Rodriguez, known affectionately as Gilbert, passed away peacefully on December 15, 2024, in Amarillo, Texas, at the age of 67. Born on October 6, 1957, in Sinton, Texas, to Teodoro and Jesusa Rodriguez, Gilbert's life was one marked by unwavering love, joyous laughter, and an enduring passion for the simple pleasures in life.

Gilbert's early years in Sinton laid the foundation for a life full of cherished memories and strong family bonds. He was preceded in death by his loving parents, Teodoro and Jesusa, as well as his sisters, Elsa Rodriguez and Sylvia Rendon. Gilbert's legacy continues through his devoted wife, Kim Rodriguez, his daughters, Chasity Granger, Christina Rodriguez and husband Gilbert Lee Rodriguez. His spirit will forever be reflected in the eyes of his grandchildren, Ronnie Granger II, D'Jordan Sutton, Maximus Rodriguez, Evan Rodriguez, and Madyson Rodriguez, and his great-grandchild, Ronnie Granger III.

Gilbert's siblings, Josie Torres, Elida Perez, Belinda McDonald, Rosie Coronado, Mary Rodriguez, Teodoro Rodriguez, Jose Luis Rodriguez, Samuel Rodriguez, Daniel Rodriguez, and Lee Rodriguez, will hold dear the memories of their brother who brought so much light into their lives.

A man of many interests, Gilbert was renowned for his love of sports, particularly the Dallas Cowboys, and could often be found in the stands, cheering on his grandchildren at their various sporting events. His competitive spirit shone through in his days participating in a local pool league. Gilbert was also a familiar presence on Facebook, where he regularly posted and sent things, keeping in touch with friends and family.

Known for his candid nature, Gilbert was a good listener who wasn't afraid to tell it like it was. His loving demeanor was the cornerstone of his character, and those who knew him were better for it.

Gilbert's life was a testament to the power of love, family, and authenticity. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him, but his memory will live on as a beacon of the love and honesty he so effortlessly embodied.
