Glen Gail Schneider 74, of Amarillo died Friday, October 13, 2017 in Amarillo. Graveside services will be at 11:00 AM Saturday at Dreamland Cemetery in Canyon with Roger Hubbard officiating. Military Honors will be by Volleys for Veterans. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel, 2800 S. Osage St. Glen was born on January 8, 1943 in Higgins to Fred A. and Hulda Schneider. He attended school in Lipscomb through 6th grade and graduated from Darrouzett High School. Glen was the Valedictorian of his class and was involved in several other activities. He worked for Western Insurance in Amarillo until he was drafted into the Army in 1964 and served his country during Vietnam. Glen married the love of his life, Charlene Bourgeois on November 6, 1970 and together they built a family which was one of his greatest accomplishments. He had a servants heart and loved his family and friends. He worked and retired from the United States Post Office and retired after 47 years of faithful service. He was a member of the Lake Tanglewood Lions Club. Glen is preceded in death by his parents, his parents in law, his brother Mervin, and his sister Melba. He is survived by his wife, Charlene; his son and daughter in law, Kenny and Lupe Schneider of Amarillo; his daughter and son in law, Robin and Kevin Shaver of Green Bay, WI; his daughter and son in law, Djuna and Stan Miller of Amarillo; seven grandchildren, and ten great grandchildren. He is also survived by two sisters; Marlene Oglesby of Ottawa, KS and Carol Phye and husband David of House Springs, MI; a brother, Ronnie Schneider of Lipscomb, TX; a sister in law, Ann Bettis of Gunderson, TX; 12 nieces and nephews and several cousins. Viewing will from 8 am and 9:30 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. SERVICES Graveside Service Saturday, October 14, 2017 11:00 AM Dreamland Cemetery Canyon, Texas
