Glenda Kay Simpson

Glenda Kay Simpson 78, of Amarillo died Thursday, Nov. 8, 2018 in Amarillo, surrounded by her family. Graveside services will be at 2:00 PM Monday, Nov. 12, 2018, at Mobeetie Cemetery with Paul Hathaway officiating. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel, 2800 S. Osage St. Kay was born on July 31, 1940, in Wheeler, to Winfred and Claudie Quarles. She graduated from Mobeetie High School. She married Norvel "Tiny" Simpson on Dec. 9, 1961. Kay worked at J.C. Penney as an interior decorator for many years. After her retirement, she became a full-time homemaker. She loved caring for her grandchildren. Kay was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband; two daughters, Shirley Headings and her husband Troy of Amarillo, and Linda Mullins and her husband Robert of Sand Springs, OK; two grandsons, Jeremy Simpson and wife Haven of Amarillo, and Joshua Summers of Pampa; two granddaughters, Claire and Gracie Headings; one great-grandson, Parker Simpson; her brother, Winfred "Don" Quarles and wife Mary Margaret of Pampa; her sister, Paula Shahan and husband Wayne of Arnett, OK, and many nieces and nephews. The family wishes to extend their heart-felt gratitude to the doctors, nurses and staff of BSA Hospice of the Southwest for the care and support they all provided. The family will receive friends from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm Sunday at the funeral home and request memorial donations to the Panhandle Down Syndrome Guild, P.O.
