Gloria Martinez

Gloria Martinez, 76, of Amarillo died Monday, February 1, 2021. Graveside service will be at Llano Cemetery at 11:00 am Thursday, February 4 officiated by Msgr. Rex Nicholl. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel, 2800 S Osage. The family will receive guests at the funeral home from 6-7:45 pm on February 3, 2021. Gloria was born in Amarillo on May 30, 1944, to Maria and David Fuentes. She was an amazing woman who did a lot of volunteer work. She volunteered for the church and meals on wheels. She was a crosswalk attendant for 3 years. Gloria was a Loving a devoted Catholic. She was very faithful, never missing a day of church. She believed in loving, forgiving, and helping others as well as seeing the good in others as Jesus would. Gloria never met a stranger and welcomed all into her home. She married the love of her life, Soylo Martinez in 1961. They were blessed with one son, Randy. Gloria is preceded in death by her parents, two sisters; Marinah Ynojosa, and Angelina Hernandez, two brothers; David Fuentes Jr., and Rey Fuentes. She is survived by her husband, Soylo Martinez, one son, Randy Martinez, a niece, Starr Bustillos, three grandsons; Patrick, Eric, and Jacob Martinez, one great-grandson, Grayson Martinez, and a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family.
