Gloria R. Saldivar 57, of Amarillo died Thursday, June 1, 2017 in Amarillo. Rosary will be recited at 6:00 PM Monday, June 5, 2017 at Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel. Mass of the Christian Burial will be at 11:00 AM Tuesday at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church with Father Felipe Alvarez, celebrant officiating. Burial will be Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel, 2800 S. Osage St. Gloria was born on April 16, 1960 in Friona to Camilo and Mary Cecelia Galicia. She lived in Amarillo most of her life. She was an extraordinary wife, mother, grandmother and friend. Gloria loved being a "Movie Critic" and enjoyed "The Big Bang Theory", "CSI" and "Lord of the Rings". She was considered a selfless person and enjoyed giving to others. She enjoyed road trips, traveling and especially eating out with her family. She married the lover of her life, Jose Daniel Saldivar on June 14, 1991 in Farwell. Gloria was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Celestino Galicia and a grandson Aaron Saldivar. She is survived by her husband; three daughters, Maria Schessler and her husband Joshua of Denver, CO, Elizabeth Loera and Melissa Saldivar both of Amarillo; one son, Daniel Jonathan Saldivar of Amarillo; four sisters, Juanita Diaz and Victoria Martinez both of Amarillo, Patsy Berger of McCamy and Delores Galicia of Fort Worth; one brother, Frank Galicia of Amarillo; three grandchildren. The family suggests memorial donations be to the March of Dimes, 104 SW 6th Avenue, Ste. 301, Amarillo, Texas 79101. Viewing will be from 12:30 pm - 7:00 pm Sunday and from 9:00 AM 8:00 pm Monday.
