H. Don Follis

H. Don Follis, 61, of Amarillo died Thursday, August 2, 2012 in Amarillo. Memorial services will be at 2:00 PM Monday at South Georgia Baptist Church with Jim Fox of Accolade Hospice officiating. Cremation and arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel, 2800 S. Osage St. Mr. Follis was born on March 2, 1951 in Lamesa to Horace and Juanita Follis. He attended Hart High School. He also went to college in Waco to become an automotive technician. He worked in the automotive depart at K Mart for several years. After leaving K Mart, Mr. Follis worked as a custodian at Valley View High School. Mr. Follis was a loving father and grandfather. He enjoyed pets, cars and especially kids. Throughout the years, He mentored and fostered many kids with love and compassion. He married Betty Brumbalow on March 3, 1973. Mr. Follis is survived by 2 daughters, Jenny Bell of Amarillo and Melinda Follis Colling of Loveland, CO; 2 sons, Peter Ledger of Amarillo and Javier Crespin of San Antonio; 5 sisters, 2, brothers, 7 grandchildren as well as his foster children. In lieu of Flowers, the family suggests memorial donations to Georgia Manor Nursing Home or Accolade Hospice Care.
