Rosary will be recited at 6:00 pm Friday, September 30 in the Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 1:00 pm Saturday, October 1 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church with Msgr. Harold Waldow as celebrant. Interment with military will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery by Rector Funeral Home 2800 South Osage St. Military honors will be rendered by the D.A.V. Chapter 26. Harold was born on December 23, 1927 in Rhineland, TX. He was the son of Henry and Leona Decker, the fourth of 10 children. After high school, he served in the U.S. Navy. He returned to Rhineland to farm and married Clerise Krenek of Fayetteville, TX. They moved to Amarillo in 1952. He worked and retired from the Amarillo Hardware Company. He was a founding member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church and a member of the Knights of Columbus. During his 30 years of retirement, he had raised cattle in Clarendon, read avidly, and worked in his shop. He was devoted to his family and found no place better than home. Survivors include his loving wife of 60 years, Clerise; 2 daughters, Beverly Decker of Colorado Springs, and Valary Smith and husband Bruce of Austin; one son, James Decker and wife Sheri of Arlington; 4 grandchildren, Jobi Decker of Dallas, Jessica Scott and husband Joey of Tulsa, Paige Decker of Arlington, and Monte Smith of Austin; 1 great granddaughter, Sydney Scott; 2 sisters, Florine Kuehler of Seymour, and Clarice Ann Decker of Munday; 2 brothers, Clarence Decker of Dallas, and Charles Decker and wife Londa of Canyon, and numerous nieces and nephews. The family requests that memorials be made to BSA Hospice and Life Enrichment Center, or a charity of choice.
