Harry Paxton Dickson

Harry Paxton Dickson, 85, of Amarillo died Thursday, September 23, 2021. The family is hosting a memorial service at 3:00 PM Saturday, October 9, 2021, at Middle point Community Fellowship Church (6700 W. Rockwell Rd.) Officiated by Robert Brown. Paxton was born in Shreveport La. on March 3, 1936, to Gertrude and Harry Dickson Sr. Paxton was an ornery man, He was hard but fair. He had a way to bring out the best in those. His personality set the atmosphere in the room. He was funny and made sure to give anyone a hard time that he could. He was a die-hard LSU Tiger fan, He enjoyed NASCAR and fishing. He had a large Snoopy collection. Paxton met the love of his life, Carolyn on a blind date. They married on September 22, 1967, in Natchez, Mississippi. Paxton is preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, his two daughters; Susan Ganther and her husband Carl, and Lori Ledford and her husband Bill, his three sons; Russel Paxton "Rusty" Dickson and his wife Angela, Richard Byron "Ricky" Dickson, and his wife Lisa, and Harry Paxton "Buddy" Dickson III and his wife Lisa, 10 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren with one on the way. In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions can be made to Middle Point Community Fellowship Church.
