Hazel Gay Ellis 82, of Amarillo died Saturday, January 19, 2013 in Amarillo Services will be at 2:00 PM Thursday at Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel with Chris Caldwell, chaplain of BSA Healthcare System officiating. Burial will be at Llano East Cemetery, Field of Valor. Arrangements are by Funeral Home Osage Chapel, 2800 S. Osage St. Mrs. Ellis was born in Bono, Ark. She moved to Amarillo in 1959. Mrs. Ellis worked as a grocery Store clerk at Furrs Supermarket and Homeland for many years. Mrs. Ellis was a loving, wife, mother and grandmother. She loved taking care of her family and was thought of as a Proverbs 31 woman. She loved helping her husband at Forest Hill Missionary Baptist Church. She left a 3 generation legacy of faith for her family to cherish. She married Walter Ellis on May 24, 1947 at Jonesboro, Ark. She is survived by her husband, Rev. Walter Ellis of the home, 1 son Kenneth Ken Ellis of Brillion, WI; 2 daughters Sharon Marcum and Joy Williams of Amarillo: 9 grandchildren Joshua, Ruth Anne, Rebeckah, John, Felicia, Michal-ann, Jeremiah, Seth and Katie, and 11 great grandchildren. Memorial Donations for Forest Hill Missionary Baptist Church or Olivias Angels in care of BSA Hospice.
