Heather Colleen Yara

Heather Colleen Yara, 46, of Amarillo died Tuesday, February 16, 2021. The Family will receive guests 2:00-5:00 pm Saturday March 6, at Rector Funeral Home. Arrangements and cremation are by Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel, 2800 S. Osage. Heather was born on October 6, 1974, in Amarillo to Carol and Randy Baker. Heather was a caring loving woman. She was extremely outgoing and never met a stranger. Heather enjoyed her dogs, flowers and plants crocheting, and quilting, and painting wither her daughter Ashleigh. She loved to travel to different states to visit their zoos and Aquariums. Heather and Jimmy Yara were united in marriage on July 28, 2006. Heather is preceded in death by her grandmother, Helen Sarah, her grandparents, Lavern and Newt Baker, her uncle, Curtis Sarah, her in-laws, Jimmy and Dorothy Yara. She is survived by her husband, her daughter, her parents, her stepson, Beau Yara, and her stepdaughter, Tess Smith. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the American Heart Association or the ASPCA.
