Helen Cain Swetnam

Helen Cain Swetnam, 70, of Amarillo died Thursday, December 7, 2006 in Amarillo. Funeral Service will be held on Monday, December 11, 2006 at 10:00 AM in Rector Funeral Home, Osage Chapel, with Rev. Robert Field, retired Baptist Minister, officiating. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home, Osage Chapel, 2800 South Osage, Amarillo TX 79103. Helen Cain Swetnam was born February 29, 1936 in Kelton, TX to J.O. and Mattie Cain. She graduated from Kelton High School in 1953. She married Jack Swetnam in Clovis, NM on August 22, 1954. Helen loved helping others. Her goal was to be a nurse. She graduated from vocational nursing in 1965. She went on and received her Associate Degree from Amarillo College and became an RN in 1972. She retired from Caprock Home Health in 1995. She was preceded in death by her parents, five sisters, and two brothers. Helen was a Baptist. She is survived by her husband Jack H. Swetnam of the home, two daughters, Joyce D. Sapp; and Jacquelyn Bragg, both of Amarillo; three grandchildren, Drew Frost; Daniel Frost and Melissa Anderson, all of Amarillo; five great-grandchildren; two brothers, C.C. (Pat) Cain, and Richard (Bud) Cain, both of Amarillo; and one sister, Alma Cain Hickenbottom of Amarillo. Memorial donations may be made to Baptist St. Anthony's Hospital
