Henry Blythe

October 18, 2014 — July 13, 2010

Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel, 2800 S. Osage St., with Kevin Johnson, pastor of Riverview Fellowship in Fort Smith, Ark., officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery East. H.D. was born Oct. 18, 1914, in Washington, Okla., to Henry and Pearl Blythe. The family later moved to Hereford, where he played varsity football and graduated with the class of 1935. He married his love of 72 years, Claudia Flowers, on July 24, 1938, in Hereford. H.D. was a member of Oakwood Baptist Church in Lubbock. H.D. was in the milk business for many years. He was an independent milk transporter, picking up milk from the dairies in and around Hereford and later working in the AMPI office in Lubbock. He and his wife retired in 2002 after 24 years of managing T-Anchor Flea Market in Amarillo. He will never be forgotten as his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren hold many happy memories in their hearts spent with the man they lovingly knew as ""Pa."" He was preceded in death by his parents and two infant daughters. Survivors include his wife, Claudia; four daughters, Gale Sanford and husband Terrell of Amarillo, Sandy Smith and husband Dennis of Plainview, Donna Hudson and husband Dean of Arlington and Liz Sebastian and husband Eddie of Lubbock; nine grandchildren, Tim and Cherilyn Malone, Tammy and Russ Owens, Kelley and Heath Bozeman, Kaycee and Jeff Buckley, Kristi and Brock Allen, Danene Hudson, Drew and Linda Hudson, Jody and Ginger Sebastian, and Jennifer and Chris Guilkey; 15 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; two brothers, Paul Blythe of Perris, Calif., and Bill Blythe of Apple Valley, Calif.; two sisters, Yvonne Brownfield of Gerber, Calif., and Louise Honor of Lancaster, Calif.; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family suggests memorials be to Olivia's Angels, in care of BSA Hospice, P.O. Box 950, Amarillo, TX 79105; or a charity of choice.
