A celebration of his life will be at 2:00 pm Thursday, August 4 in the Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel with John Elser, Chaplain of the V.A. Hospital officiating. Interment will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery with Military Honors rendered by the Disabled Veterans Chapter 26. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home 2800 S. Osage St. Henry was born on March 12, 1921 in Ellis County. He served his country proudly in the U.S. Army during WWII. He was a resident of Dumas for several years prior to residing in Clarendon. He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret. Survivors include 2 daughters, Linda Sloan and husband Andy of Amarillo, and Beverly Mayeaux of Newport News, VA; a son, Henry Leach of Amarillo; 2 sisters, Helen Crews of Sherman, and Marie Phillips of Canton, OH; 14 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren, and 5 great great grandchildren. The family would like to convey a special appreciation to his grandson, Thomas Abernathy for his compassion and care during his illness.
