Herman 'Judge' Ivins

Herman "Judge" Ivins 84, of Amarillo died Thurs. Oct. 17, 2019. Services are scheduled 2 Pm Wed. Oct. 23 at Rector Funeral Home with James Griffin officiating. Arrangements and cremation are by Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel, 2800 S. Osage St. Herman Ivins was born February 6, 1935 to Frank and Bessie Ivins in Amarillo. He moved to Dallas at the age of 20 to become a Diesel Mechanic. He was a hardworking, dedicated employee. He was a fast learner and was able to keep up with technology as things went computerized. Herman married the love of his life Carolyn in 1957. He drove back to Amarillo every weekend to see her until she moved to Dallas in 1958. They moved back to Amarillo in 1999. Herman was a patient man and a good teacher to his son Eddie. He was kind and had a big heart. Herman loved to share the word of God; he was a good preacher. Herman would share the gospel with anyone. Herman is survived by his son, Eddie Ivins, 3 grandchildren; Estelle Supernor, Codie Ivins, Kaela Ivins, seven great grandchildren, one great-great grandchild, and two sister in-laws Sandy and her husband Vic Martindale, and Sharon Martin. He was preceded in death by his parents, His wife, two brothers; Frank Ivins Jr. and Blake Ivins, and two sisters; Irene Tyler, and Helen Stockton.
