Hilda Y. Brenes

Hilda Y. Brenes 59 of Amarillo died Thursday August 28, 2008 in Amarillo. Services will be at 10:00 AM Saturday at Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel with Josias Limones of El Santuario Iglesia Pentecostal Unida and David Castro of Victory Church officiating. Interment will be at Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel 2800 S. Osage St. Mrs. Brenes was born in Matamoros, Mexico. She moved to Amarillo in 1972 from Brownsville. She became an U.S. citizen in 1984. Mrs. Brenes was a homemaker and loved serving her family. She was a born again Christian and attended Victory Church and El Santuario Iglesia Pentecostal Unida. She married George Brenes on July 5, 1972 at Brownsville. Survivors include her husband of the home; 1 daughter, Denise Margarita Brenes of Salt Lake City, UT; 2 sons, George Brenes, Jr. and Eduardo Charles Brenes both of Amarillo; 4 sisters, Imelda Escobedo of Fort Worth, Blanca Zamarripa and Rosa Escobedo both of Amarillo and Dora Gonzalez of Brownsville; 3 brothers, Anibal Escobedo of Amarillo and Eliud Escobedo and Gilberto Escobedo, Jr. both of Brownsville; her father, Gilberto Escobedo, Sr. of Brownsville and 4 grandchildren.
