Homer R. Cowles

Homer R. Cowles 81, of Amarillo died Monday July 23, 2012 in Amarillo. Graveside services will be at 11:00 AM Friday at Llano East Cemetery, Field of Valor with Gil Hiltbrunner officiating. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel, 2800 S. Osage St. Mr. Cowles was born in Oakland, CA., on December 4, 1930. He served in the United States Air Force during the Korean and Vietnam Wars. He was honorably discharged after 28 years of faithful service. After retiring from the Air Force, Mr. Cowles moved to Florida. He moved to Amarillo in 1992. He was preceded in death by his wife, Christine in 1996. He was also preceded in death by 2 sons, Larry Cowles in 1978 and Michael Cowles in 2010. He is survived by 3 daughters, Eve Basden of Amarillo, Donna Harrison of Halfway, MO, and Beverly Duffel of Odessa, FL; 6 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. The body will not be available for viewing.
