Homer C. Crawford Jr.

Homer C. Crawford Jr. 87 of Amarillo died Tuesday January 17, 2012 in Amarillo. Graveside services will be at 1:00 PM Saturday at Fairview Cemetery in Memphis with Bright Newhouse, Church of Christ minister officiating. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel, 2800 S. Osage St. Mr. Crawford was born in Lakeview on September 18, 1924 to Homer C. and Lorena Mae ""Mamie"" Crawford. He moved to Amarillo in 1957 from Hedley. He worked in the warehouse of Sears for 21 years. After retiring, Mr. Crawford moved to Arkansas. He returned to Amarillo in December of 2010. Mr. Crawford was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, Deborah Guffey in 1982 and a son Michael ""Bo"" Crawford in 2005. He is survived by 2 daughters, Judy Noyes and her husband Jerry of Mesquite and Cathey Taylor and her husband Chuck of Blanchard, OK; 1 son Jerry Crawford and his wife Davon of Amarillo; 1 sister, Jonnie Medart of Rowlett; a brother Kenneth Crawford of Germany; 7 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. The family suggests memorial donations in lieu of flowers be made to Odyssey Hospice, 7201 Evans Blvd. Amarillo, Texas 79106.
