Irene S. Hill

A celebration of her life will be at 10:00 am Monday, June 6 in the Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel with Bradley Speer, Pastor of Oasis Southwest Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be at Memory Gardens Cemetery. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home 2800 S. Osage St. Irene was born in Sharon Springs, KS to Ruel and Opal Strickland. She was a resident of Amarillo, since 1963, and worked in retail at the Hollywood. She was a member of Pilot Club, Order of the Eastern Star, and the VFW Auxillary. Irene married John C. Wilson at Liberal, KS in 1945. She later married James M. Hill at Pampa in 1963. She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Dale Strickland; both husbands; a son, Jimmy Hill; a daughter, Barbara Phelps; and a granddaughter, Heather Treadway. Survivors include 2 daughters, Brenda G. Wilson and Rhonda Wilson both of Amarillo; 2 sons, John Wilson Jr. of Amarillo, and Randy Wilson and wife Diane of Dodge City, KS; 2 sisters, Joyce Floyd of Scottsdale, AZ, and Doris Honey of El Dorado, KS; 2 brothers, Stanley Strickland of Moore, OK, and Gary Strickland of Mesa, AZ; 10 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, 5 great great grandchildren. The family requests that memorials be made to American Cancer Society.
