Iva Belle Hail

Iva Belle Hail 93, formerly of Amarillo died Saturday August 1, 2009 in Austin. Memorial services will be at 2:00 PM Wednesday at Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel with Rev. Jim Bankhead, pastor of First Presbyterian Church officiating. Private family burial will be at Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel, 2800 S. Osage Street. Mrs. Hail was born in Silverton. She lived in Amarillo most of her life. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Amarillo for 74 years. She moved to Waco in 2000 to be closer to her children. She joined First Presbyterian Church in Waco. She was a member of the Presbyterian Women's Group in Amarillo for many years. For many years, Mrs. Hail volunteered to sew and mend clothing for the children living at the Presbyterian Children's Home. She also used her talent to beautifully make handwork as a token and gifts to the needy. She knitted wool caps and scarves for the homeless along with special cotton bandages for those in leper colonies. Mrs. Hail's greatest gift was her unconditional love to her family and friends. She lived a life devoted to God. Her joy of life spilled over in laughter and humor and positively affected every life she touched. She loved sending birthday cards with a surprise of folded money for every relative, every year without fail. Mrs. Hail loved cooking for her family. She married Roddy Hail in 1935 in Clovis, NM. He preceded her in death in 1992. She is survived by, 1 son, Jim Hail and his wife Sue of Crawford; 2 daughters, Patricia Ann ""Pat"" Richardson and her husband Tom and Judy Lynn Dunnam and her husband David, all of Austin; 1 brother, R.T. Pyeatt of Morro Bay CA; 6 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. The family suggests memorials to the Presbyterian Children's Home of Amarillo or a favorite charity.
