J Pilar Carrera Martinez, 73, of Amarillo died Friday April 23, 2021. Mass will be 2:00 pm Wednesday, April 28, at St. Laurance Catholic Church officiated by Fr. Heider. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel, 2800 S. Osage. The family will receive guests Monday, April 26 from 6-8 pm. Rosary will be Tuesday, April 27 at 6:00 pm at the funeral home. Mr. Martinez was born October 12, 1947 in Coahuila, Mexico to Cemencia Martinezes and Melquiades Carrera. J Pilar was a happy-go-lucky man who was always joking around. He never met a stranger. he enjoyed dancing, Gardening, and of course China Star. His garden consisted of chilies, trees, and other various plants. J Pilar was fun, Goofy, and energetic. His family meant the world to him, even if they fell victim to his good sense of humor. he didnt mind roasting them or giving them funny nicknames. He was a really strong person emotionally. J Pilar is preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, Emiteria Carrera Martinez. He is survived by his wife, Isidra Resendiz, his parents, Seven daughters; Martha Bustos and her husband Edward, Rosalinda Avila, and her husband Luis, Yesenia Carrera, and her significant other, Jorge Luna. Yolanda Carrera and her significant other Mauricio Mendoza, Lisa Manriquez and her husband Andres, Maricella Sanchez and her husband Sergio, and Veronica Garay and her husband Luis, two sons; Javier Reyes and Daniel Carrera 27 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, one sister, Francisca Carrera Martinez and one brother, Marcelino Carrera Martinez.
