James ""David"" Ayers Jr. 54, of Amarillo passed away on Thursday, January 21, 2010 in Amarillo. A private memorial service was held. Arrangements were by Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel, 2800 S. Osage St. Mr. Ayers was born on August 29, 1955 in Ft. Lewis, WA to James David Sr. and Ruth Ayers. He lived in several places throughout his younger years, and particularly enjoyed the time he resided in Anchorage, Alaska. He graduated from Shamrock High School, and later moved to Amarillo where he spent the majority of his adult life. Mr. Ayers was an outgoing person who enjoyed life, and had made several friends including those from various local coffee shops. He was always willing to help those in need. His compassionate heart and warm smile will never be forgotten. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Sandra Kay Baucom. He is survived by his brother, Chap Ayers of Amarillo; 3 aunts, Frances Treat and husband Wesley of Pampa, Mary McAllister of Dumas, and Rita Moser of Dianna; 2 uncles, Gene Chapman and wife Gloria of Dianna, and Larry Chapman of Pampa; 2 nephews, Sammy Baucom and Wayne Baucom both of Amarillo; and a host of friends including, Janet and Gary, Rocky, Allen, Robert, Kathleen, Hazel, Cynda, and Mary.
