James M. Barker

James M. ""Jim"" Barker 76 of Amarillo died Tuesday Sept. 16, 2003. Graveside services will be at 1:00 PM Saturday at the Dozier Cemetery in Dozier with Rev. Dean Driver pastor of the First Baptist Church of Samnorwood officiating. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home 2800 S. Osage St. Mr. Barker was born in Collingsworth County. He farmed and ranched near Dozier for many years. He was an Army and Navy veteran and served with the Navy during WWII. He was a former member of the Samnorwood Lions Club and the Texas Cattle Feeders Assoc. He was baptized at the Samnorwood Baptist Church. Survivors include his son; Richard Barker and his wife Eva of Amarillo, 1 sister; Lucille Self and her husband Kenneth of Ennis, 4 grand children; Shawntel, Christine, Jason and Dean, a great-grandson; Tyrone and 8 other great-grandchildren. The family requests memorial donations to Olivia's Angels c/o BSA Hospice and Life Enrichment Center 600 N. Tyler Amarillo, Texas 79107
