James Robert Biggers

James "Shorty" Biggers 68, of Tucumcari NM, passed away on January 18, 2019 In Amarillo, TX of unexpected heart issues. Services for James Biggers will be held on January 26 ,2019 , at 10:30 am at First Baptist Church of Tucumcari with John Hinze officiating. Cremation was by Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel, 2800 S. Osage St., Amarillo, TX. James was born January 3, 1951 in Paducah, KY to James and Louise Biggers. James was the youngest boy of 5 children Junior Biggers, Dewayne Biggers, Roy Biggers and Janet Springer. He started at Wagners Moving and Storage when he was 14 years old washing trucks until he was old enough to become a helper at 18 and then onto becoming a truck driver at 21. He married Billie Powell of Highland, Il., May 21, 1988 they had 5 children together Jessica, Kelly, James, Andy and Brittany. James worked for Wagners for 29 years before retiring and moving to Tucumcari with his family. He acquired the nickname "Shorty" at that time. He met his best friend of 20 years, Dennis Smart in Tucumcari. For 20 year they didn't miss a beat. They were together every day to talk and drink a cold one in the evenings. Their friendship would grow to be a phenomenal relationship that everyone should have. James become a Junker. He hauled off every ones scrap metals and mowed lawns and the elderly with the up keep of their properties. James made his daily rounds greeting friends and family. He really enjoyed the semi industry since that was his lifelong job. He would go by and visit Jacks Truck Repair and 66 Garage. James was also a member of First Baptist Church where he worked security and became one with the Lord. Everyone James came into contact with, he loved, and they always left with a smile on their face from his humorous personality. If James were here today, he'd say, "I gotta go." James is survived by his wife of 30 years, Billie Biggers of Tucumcari, NM. His cherished best friend Dennis Smart of Tucumcari, NM; three daughters, Jessica Goen and her husband Jason Goen and Kelly Biggers & Michael Rivera and Brittany Kelley & Shawn George all of Tucumcari; two sons James Biggers & Stephanie Johnson of Tucumcari and Thomas Biggers & Ana Rodriquez of Santa Rosa; 10 grandchildren. Johnathan, Nicholas, Justin, Jaxtyn, Gavien, Lana, Tanner, Trevor, Aleesha. and his newest excitement the first to carry on his last name a grandson Haiden James Biggers Due June 2019. Along with his two brothers and sister, several nieces, nephews, cousins and many beloved friends.
