James W. King

Memorial Services will be at 11:00 AM Saturday at Chaparral Hill Baptist Church with Rev. Alan Burkhalter, pastor officiating. Cremation and arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel, 2800 S. Osage St. Mr. King was born on December 23, 1935 in Raton, NM, to JC and Lottie King. He worked as a car sales-man for 40 years. There wasn't a car or motorcycle James couldn't work on or sell. He was a loving husband and father. He married Patricia ""Patsy"" Martin on January 15, 1960. They spent 37 wonderful years together. She preceded him in death in 1997. James loved spending time with his family. He was an avid racing fan and loved camping. He could play a mean game of Dominos and was a great Barbeque Chef. He absolutely cherished the time he spent with his family and many friends. He will be missed. He married Virginia Hobbs on January 30, 2004. They retired together and enjoyed spending their time together with their family and friends. James is survived by his wife Virginia; 1 son, Shawn and his wife Virginia of Amarillo; 1 daughter, Shannon Carver and her husband Chance of Canyon; 2 step-children, Michelle Vogt and her husband Frank of Canyon and Karen Rodgers of Branson, MO; 3 grandchildren Sara King, Conner Trimble and Miranda Carver; 1 great grandchild Xander Hill; 4 step grandchildren, Tiffany, Jason, Andrea and Launa.
