James David Lovett

November 3, 1931 — April 13, 2008

James David, ""JD"" Lovett 76 of Amarillo died Sunday April 13, 2008 at his home. Graveside services will be at 11:00 AM Monday at Llano East Cemetery, Field of Valor with David Taylor, pastor of Walnut Street Baptist Church of Winnsboro officiating. Military honors will be by the Altus Air Force Base. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel 2800 S. Osage St. Amarillo, Texas. Mr. Lovett was born in Anderson, County. He lived in Amarillo most of his life. He served in the United States Air Force during the Korean and Vietnam Wars. He retired after 22 years of service as a Staff Sgt. In 1972. Mr. Lovett was lovingly known as ""JD"" or ""Cotton"" to his friends and family. He loved fishing and boating. He was a loving, Dad and Brother. Mr. Lovett was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Cheyenne Lovett. Survivors include 1 daughter Jamie R. Zachary and her husband Scott of Usk, WA; 1 son, Joe Allen Lovett of Snyder; 1 brother, Arnold Lovett and his wife Nancy of Amarillo; 2 grandchildren, Sgt. Christopher Dodds of Ft. Lewis, WA and Nichole Dodds of Moscow, ID; and 1 great-granddaughter, Kelcie Ann Marie Dodds of Ft. Lewis, WA.
