James 'Jc' Mills

On Wednesday, February 17, 2021, James Cecil "J.C." Mills Jr., loving husband and father of six passed away at the age of 85. J.C. was born on July 3, 1935 in Jones, OK to James Cecil and Mamie Adenia Mills. He married the love of his life, Melba Jean Brown, on November 30, 1954, after only knowing her for seven days. They were married for 63 years and raised six children, Barbara, Danny, Fred, Rodney, Randy and Cecilia. J.C. served in the Army for six years. Throughout his service he received several medals. One being the Korean Service Medal w/1 Bronze Service Star. J.C. loved working on cars and owned his own paint and body shop, Mills Automotive. J.C. was an avid member of the Panhandle Bluegrass Association. He loved to sit around and play his music with friends and his beautiful wife. He was loved so much and will be missed. He is preceded in death by his father James Mills Sr., mother Mamie Mills, wife Melba Mills, two brothers Wesley Mills, Dale Mills, two sisters Cindy Winn, Josephine King, son-in-law Gene Britton, two grandsons Anthony Mills, Bobby Mills, and a great granddaughter Kenleigh Hall. He leaves behind his children Barbara, Danny, Fred and wife Janet, Rodney and wife Jackie, Randy, and Cecilia all of Amarillo. Sister Ann Bradshaw of Brentwood, TX and brother Wiley Mills of Ardmore, OK, along with several grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. The family will be accepting visitors at Rector Funeral Home Saturday February 20 th 3:00PM - 8:00PM and Sunday February 21 st 12:30PM 6:00PM. Celebration of life will be Monday February 22, 2021 at 11AM at Rector Funeral Home, then a graveside prayer in Mobeetie, TX at 3PM.
