James Pemberton

James Pemberton 72 of Panhandle died October 21, 2013 in Panhandle. Memorial service will be at a later date in Michigan. Cremation was by Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel, 2800 S. Osage St. Amarillo, Texas. Mr. Pemberton was born in Petosky, MI on April 18, 1941 to James and Juanita (Davis) Pemberton. He lived most of his life in northern Michigan. He moved to Texas in 2011. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He enjoyed spending quality time with his family, playing cards, laughing and sharing old memories. Jim loved to play golf, poker and enjoyed hunting, fishing and watching sports. He was very protective of his family and always put their needs before his own. He married Ellen Peters on December 31, 1960. They enjoyed playing BINGO and travelling to casinos. Jim was a very happy person. He loved to make people laugh and always had a good joke to tell. He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers, Jerry and Norm, 2 granddaughters, Natalee and Danielle and a great-granddaughter, Carmen. He is survived by his wife of Panhandle, 5 daughters, Robin Bloemendal and her husband Jeff of Fennville, MI, Sandy Tenbrink and her husband Mark of Holland, MI, Dawn Nietering and her husband Jeff of Nunica, MI, Tammy Chamberlain and her husband Scott and Nikol Kolka and her husband Andy all of Panhandle; 1 son, Scott Pemberton and his wife Holly of McMillan, MI; 3 brothers, Steve Pemberton and his wife Janet of Paris, TN, Calvin Pemberton and his wife Jackie of Harbor Springs, MI and Terry Pemberton and his wife Crystal of Las Animas, CO; a sister, Betty Crites of Onaway, MI; 22 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.
