J.C. Essary Sr.

J.C. Essary, Sr., 85 of Amarillo died Saturday June 28, 2008 in Amarillo. Graveside services will be at 2:00 pm Monday at Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home 2800 S. Osage St. Amarillo, Texas 79103. Mr. Essary has lived in Amarillo for over 60 years. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII. He worked as a carpenter for many years. He worked for G.E. Bond and many others. He built custom cabinetry and did home remodeling. He was a longtime member of San Jacinto Baptist Church, and prior to that, Olsen Park Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Pearl of the home; 1 daughter, Beatrice Tarr of Amarillo; 2 sons, Marion Calvin Kight, and J.C. Essary, Jr. both of Amarillo; 1 sister, Lucille Dudley of Cortez, CO; 2 brothers, B.F. Essary and Marvin Essary, both of Amarillo; 9 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
