Jean Marie Toole Howe, 79, of Amarillo was called gently home on Monday, August 29, 2011. Services will be Friday, September 2, 2011 at 2 pm at Southwest Baptist Church (Oasis) with Mark Phillips of Buchanan Street United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be at Llano Cemetery, Amarillo, immediately following the church service. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home, 2800 S. Osage. Mrs. Howe was born May 24, 1932 in Chadron, Nebraska. She married Loren R. Howe, Sr. on January 24, 1954 and moved to Amarillo to join her husband. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt. Survivors include her spouse; her twin sister, Jane Toole Stubbs of Great Falls, Montana; her son, Loren R Howe, Jr., of Amarillo, and her three grandchildren, James Howe (Amarillo), Jerod Howe (Amarillo) and Jasmine Howe (Lincoln, IL) as well as many dear nieces and nephews who are scattered across the country. She was retired from Amarillo ISD after 29 years where she primarily worked at Caprock High School in the office and as the registrar. She served as the Flag Corp sponsor and was an avid band booster for much of that time. She was inducted as a Longhorn Legend in 1994 and was known to many as simply, ""Mom"" Howe.
