Jeanne Folkner, 64, of Amarillo passed away on Tuesday December 12, 2006 in Amarillo. Graveside Services will be held on Friday, December 15, 2006 at 11:00 AM in Llano Cemetery with Msgr. Harold Waldow of St. Mary's Catholic Church officiating. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home, Osage Chapel, 2800 South Osage. Jeanne married Leo Folkner in 1959 in Amarillo. They were married for forty four years. He preceded her in death on April 8, 2003. She was a life-long resident of Amarillo, and attended the old Amarillo High School. She worked as a nurse's aide at Saint Anthony's Hospital for a number of years. Jeanne was the granddaughter of Booker T. Tanner, who was the engineer of the famous landmark Santa Fe train engine that currently is on display in downtown Amarillo. Her grandchildren were her world. She will be dearly missed. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Jerry Brown. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church.She is survived by two daughters, Donna Schulte and her husband Greg of Rowlett, TX and Deanna Saavedra and her husband Tony of Amarillo; one son, Dean Folkner of Amarillo; five grandchildren, Sarah Schulte and Shelby Schulte both of Rowlett, TX and Drew Saavedra, Brian Saavedra, and Cameron Saavedra of Amarillo; one sister-in-law, Dolores Austin of Amarillo and one brother-in-law, Lowell Folkner of Amarillo.
