Jerry Lee Beck 89, of Amarillo died Thursday, Sept. 3, 2020 in Amarillo. Private family services will be held at a later date. Cremation was by Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel, 2800 S. Osage St. Mr. Beck was born on July 28, 1931 in Lubbock. He graduated from Amarillo High School in 1950. He enlisted in the Army in 1952 and was honorably discharged in 1954. He served in Korea for 13 months. Mr. Beck loved his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He served many churches as the song director, including, Central Church of Christ. He enjoyed singing and playing the guitar. He formed and sang in the Pioneer Quartet for 13 years and was a member of the Barbershop Quartet Society for 25 years.. He also wrote several songs, both spiritual and country. Mr. Beck was an avid golfer. He never made a hole-in-one, but even at the age of 81 he could shoot below his age. He worked as an insurance adjuster for 38 years and was a faithful member of the Church of Christ at the Colonies. He married the love of his life, Dian LeMaster on August 17, 1952 in Mercer Island, WA. They spent 68 wonderful years together. He is survived by his loving wife; two sons, Dwight Beck of Eugene, Ore. and Michael Beck of Amarillo; his daughter, Brenda Bridwell and her husband Devin of Texhoma, Okla.; seven grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. The family suggests memorial donations to the High Plains Children's Home, 11461 S. Western St., Amarillo, TX 79118. Private Cremation Saturday, September 05, 2020
