Jerry Mack Buchanan

Jerry Mack Buchanan, 55 of Amarillo died Tuesday March 18, 2003. Services will be at 2:00 PM Friday at Southwest Baptist Church with Bob Thomas, chaplain of Crown of Texas Hospice and Rev. Murry Parker, father and United Methodist minister officiating. Interment will be at Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home 2800 S. Osage St. Mr. Buchanan was born in Waverly, Tenn. He moved to Amarilo in 1960 from Waverly. He owned and operated Buchanan Body Shop from 1980 to 1992. He worked as an estimator for State Farm from 1992 to 2003. He was a member of Paramount Terrace Christian Church and the Amarillo Chapter of the Harley Owners Group. Survivors include 1 daughter; Whitney Buchanan of Amarillo, 2 sons; Monty Buchanan of Coppell, TX and PFC Blandy Buchanan of Honolulu, HI., 4 sisters; Jennifer Stagner of Bullhead City, AZ, Lynn Tyndall of Victorville, CA, Genie Parker-Bolin and Toni Price both of Apple Valley, CA, 3 brothers; his twin brother, Gene Buchanan of Amarillo, Lin Buchanan of Amarillo and Melvin Joe Buchanan of Camden, Tenn, his mother; Mattie Lou Carter of Amarillo and his father Rev. Murry Parker of Collinwood, Tenn and 3 grandchildren. The family requests memorial donations to the Don & Sybil Harrington Cancer Center.
