Jerry D. Grooms

Jerry D. Grooms, 37 of Amarillo died Monday, April 14, 2003. Services will be at 10:00 AM Thursday at Southwest Baptist Church with J. Alan Ford, pastor and Randy Srader assoc. pastor officiating. Graveside services will be at 2:00 PM at Boot Hill Cemetery at Boys Ranch. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home 2800 S. Osage St. Amarillo, Texas. Mr. Grooms was born in Jacksonville, FL. He moved to Amarillo more than 30 years ago from Alabama. He was a journeyman electrician and had worked for Coronado Electric and Carver Electric. He worked as the product manager for CSG for several years. He was currently employed with Burris and Matthews as a sales rep. Mr. Grooms was active with the children's ministry at Southwest Baptist Church, Oasis Motorcycle Ministry, Golden Spread Emmaus Community and Promise Keepers. He was a Boys Ranch Alumni. He married Paige Stembridge in 1990 at Amarillo. Survivors include: his wife of the home, 1 daughter, Ashley of the home, 2 sons, Nicholas of Amarillo and Jarrad of the home, 1 sister, Kim Eggert of Amarillo, 3 brothers, Fred Smith, Mark Smith and Tim Smith all of Amarillo and his mother, Gail Forestin of Amarillo.
