Jerry Dean Morris

Jerry Dean Morris 55 of Amarillo died Tuesday October 16, 2007 at Amarillo. Funeral Service will be at 10:00 AM Friday October 19, 2007 at Amarillo South Church with Melvin Morris III officiating. Graveside Services will be Friday October 19, 2007 at 2:00 PM in West Park Cemetery in Hereford. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home, Osage Chapel, 2800 South Osage St., Amarillo TX. Jerry Dean Morris was born in Tucumcari New Mexico. He served in the US Army during Vietnam. He was a hardworking and dedicated individual; an avid collector and outdoorsman. He was a loving father and always proud of his children and grandchildren. He always did without, so his family would not have to. He was a good-hearted person. He truly enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren and was the best father-in-law anyone could ask for. He will be dearly missed. He was preceded in death by his father Melvin Gene Morris, Sr. in November 1999. Survivors include: his wife Jamie Heather Morris; two sons, Robert Morris and his wife Susan of Dumas; Landon Morris and his wife Candice of Norman OK; a daughter, Cassandra Velasco and her husband Isai of Hereford; his mother and step-father, Edna Jane Crow and William G. Crow of Hereford; three grandchildren, Jordan Morris of Dumas, Ethan Velasco and Aubrey Velasco both of Hereford; two brothers, Melvin Gene Morris II of Amarillo; and Jimmy Don Morris of Waco In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Kwahadi Dancers, PO Box 32125, Amarillo TX 79118.
