Jesse M. De Leon

Jesse M. De Leon, 64, of Amarillo died Saturday, July 31, 2021. Memorial Service is 3:00 pm Wednesday, August 4 at Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel officiated by Carlos Ramos and Vincent Guerrero. Arrangements and cremation are by Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel, 2800 S. Osage. The family will receive guests 6-8 pm Tuesday at the funeral home Services will be live-streamed on the Rector Funeral Home Facebook page. Jesse was born in Kansas City, Mo. on October 27, 1956, he was raised by his mother Eva Candelaria, and her husband Noe De Leon. He moved to Amarillo at the age of 9. He married the love of his life, Esther on July 16, 1993. Jesse was a dedicated and loving husband, father, and friend. He loved spending time with family and friends but looked forward to the holidays, especially Christmas. He enjoyed cooking and frying the holiday turkey. he also enjoyed cooking for his crew members. He worked at Xcel Energy for 42 years. Jesse enjoyed listening to Motown music, newspaper crossword puzzles, and of course gardening. Jesses yard and garden were always immaculate. He was perfectionist in all things he did. Jesse was a 2-time state champion wrestler for Caprock High School. He also loved the Dallas Cowboys. Jesse is preceded in death by his parents, Eva Candelaria and Joe Candelaria, and step dad, Noe De Leon. He is survived by his wife, Esther, three daughters; Jessica, Jaclyn, and Erica and her husband Carlos, three sons; Jesse Jr., Eric, and Vincent and his wife, Ereca, many grandchildren, one sister, Liz and her husband Jeff Crawford, two brothers; Danny and James Porras and many nieces and nephews.
